Meet Lynn
Following a 30+ year career in education, most of those years as a special education teacher and program specialist, I am excited to be retired and committed to dedicating the next chapter of my life to serving God and those He brings to me. In my professional life, I had a leadership role in developing programs and procedures for students with special needs. As I served students and their families in finding their way to the resources they needed, identifying goals and the right avenues for meeting them was a large part of my job. I continue to serve as a literacy trainer and coach for teachers as well as volunteering in a local Christian School to support the staff in meeting the needs of students with challenges.
In addition to my professional career, I have participated in a variety of ministries with my church, including serving as Director of Christian Education, Sunday School Superintendent, Head of Women’s Ministries, VBS Director, teacher in a variety of settings including Sunday School, Bible Study Groups, AWANA, and VBS. It was my pleasure to serve as chair of a task force to start a new Christian School and have designed curricula for both children’s and adult’s programs. I created a curriculum and trained people within my church to minister to those who are in crisis. Experience in speaking on a variety of subjects related to special education, parenting and learning patterns has helped to prepare me to be a life coach.
Having experienced a number of transitions, challenges and changes in my own life, I have become aware of the need for someone to come alongside at certain times in our lives, not for counseling or therapy, but just to help us gain perspective and identify where we are and where we’re going. These experiences led me to a search which culminated in my relationship with my own Life Coach. God has put in me a very strong desire to meet similar needs for others.
My credentials:
- Masters degree in special education at the University of Oregon
- Credentialed teacher in the state of California
- Completed “Helping People God’s Way” curriculum - Light University
- Certification as Professional Life Coach - Light University
- Member of American Association of Christian Counselors
